10/17/2014: Tom does an interview with Wondering Sound on how Enema of the State changed his life. On the status of a new album: "We actually have our very first big writing session"

10/23/2014: Tom to Diffuser.fm: "I think the goal is to get working hard on a [blink] record by the end of the year and we just have to figure out really, where and how, because we're in different locations. But, I'll know more in a couple weeks."

10/31/2014: Tom to MTV: "I don't want to go out on tour. But when I'm out there in front of 100,000 people, I'm like "Oh wow this is pretty cool!"

11/11/2014: Tom to Rock Sound: "[We're talking about] building websites and getting ready to start recording a record, so that's all coming, but there's no timeline at the moment."

11/21/2014: Mark talks about his new project and new blink-182 album on Feliz Navipod.

12/1/2014: Tom to Billboard: "I think we found the house we're going to start recording the next record in. That's a big deal, finding location, for us. That's usually the biggest obstacle, finding a place everyone can get to."

12/5/2014: Tom to Faster Louder: "The past few years it's been quite an adventure trying to find the appropriate label that can live somewhere between being an independent artist and also being on a traditional label."

12/9/2014: 

  • Angels & Airwaves’ fifth album, The Dream Walker, is released.

  • Tom to Digital Spy: "We've just figured out who is gonna put out the album”

  • Tom to Gibson: "Blink 182 isn't that time-consuming. We don't do too much stuff. [...] It's not something we're doing full-time."

12/18/2014: Tom essentially calls Blink his second priority in a Gigwise interview: "I naturally write at this point in my life like Angels & Airwaves, but I really love to re-visit where I came from. I love to play Blink music. It's enormously fun and second nature to me."

12/23/2014: Tom to NME: "I think we have to just try and go into it and try to make the best album of our career and create a situation that's really creative and conducive to that idea."

12/24/2014: The band signs a record deal. In Mark and Travis's Rolling Stone tell-all, Mark says: "We had been talking about where we wanted to record, what producers we want to use, what day we want to start."

12/30/2014: Tom appears to back out of Blink commitments -- through his manager. In Mark and Travis's Rolling Stone tell-all, Mark says: "On December 30th, we get an e-mail from Tom's manager saying that he has no interest in recording and that he wants to do his other, non-musical stuff and that he's out indefinitely."
