YEAR IN REVIEW: Blink tour nationwide and begin to headline their own bills, leading to a spot on the Warped Tour. They also venture outside North America for the first time, playing shows in the United Kingdom and Japan. In November, they sign to MCA, a major label, who will co-distribute their next album, Dude Ranch, which they begin recording in December.

The band makes an "oral agreement" with Kung-Fu Records (run by Vandals members Joe Escalante and Warren Fitzgerald) to re-release Buddha in the near future. An anonymous online post in 2013 alleges that the band did not properly compensate Pat Secor for his work on the original demo. Secor had been trying to get the band to put Buddha on CD, it says, but they declined to discuss it. When Secor attempted to sell copies of Buddha without paying royalties, it alleges the band got Escalante, who is also a lawyer, to stop it. Then they let Escalante's label, Kung-Fu, release the album.
