YEAR IN REVIEW: The band embarks on the Pop Disaster Tour with Green Day — essentially, a “Monsters of Punk” tour. But Tom’s Box Car Racer experiment snowballs into a side project, seeing release by MCA and eventually mounting a full-scale tour with an entirely separate band, and Travis. Mark feels betrayed, and there is little activity from the band.

1/31/2002: Box Car Racer is announced, as well as a minitour to take place prior to the Pop Disaster Tour.

2/6/2002: The Urethra Chronicles II: Harder Faster Faster Harder, the band’s second home video, is announced.

2/13/2002: The Pop Disaster Tour is announced on TRL. Video 1

2/25/2002: The band are chosen as Artist of the Month by Seventeen Magazine, and have a video appearance at their magazine offices.

3/6/2002: Travis's home makes an appearance on MTV Cribs.

3/21/2002: Box Car Racer records a music video for lead single "I Feel So" at a studio in Burbank, California.

3/29/2002: The movie ''Clockstoppers'' is released in theaters. The song ''All The Small Things'' is included during the opening credits and the soundtrack. Opening Scene of Clockstoppers
